Breakup Coach AI ("we", "our", "the app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: email address and display name when you sign up.
• Self-reported healing data: breakup date, relationship duration, breakup type, healing goal, current stage.
• Journal & check-in content: mood scores, text entries, and voice transcripts you create.
• AI coach conversations: messages you send to and receive from the in-app AI coach.
• Subscription data: your account ID (used as your RevenueCat customer ID) and entitlement status (we do not receive your payment card details).
• Device data: push notification token (if you enable reminders), preferred language.

2. How we use your data

• To provide personalized healing guidance, check-in responses, journaling insights, and coach conversations.
• To deliver the reminders you configure.
• To manage your subscription status.
• To improve the app using pseudonymous usage events and aggregate reports about app use and return visits.

3. Data storage & security

Account records are stored in Supabase (EU region); coach memory notes are stored locally as described in section 10. Session tokens on your device are encrypted with AES-256 in the iOS Keychain / Android Keystore. Row-Level Security rules ensure only you can read or write your own records.

4. Third-party services

• Supabase — authentication, database, storage. Privacy
• OpenAI — AI replies (check-ins, journal, Unsent Letters, AI Coach and Unsent Messages chats, SOS message checks) and voice journal transcription (Whisper). The text you write is sent together with your display name and basic breakup details (such as your stage, breakup type and days since the breakup); it is not anonymized. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models and may retain it for up to 30 days to monitor abuse. If you opt in, only the name of your attachment-style result (not your test answers) is sent to our AI provider to personalize AI coach and check-in replies; you can turn this off anytime in Profile. For the weekly AI note, report dates, your numerical mood summary (average and trend), activity counts and emotion labels are also shared. The custom message in an active friend report is sent to OpenAI for automated safety moderation, including during scheduled sends. Turning off AI reply consent does not stop scheduled friend reports; you can turn those off on the Friend Report screen. Privacy

5. Your rights & data deletion

You can delete your account and its app records at any time from within the app: Profile tab → "Delete my account" → confirm. This action is irreversible and permanently removes your auth user, profile, check-ins, journals, coach conversations, and avatar. Previously collected usage analytics are handled separately as explained below.

6. Children

Breakup Coach AI is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from them.

We will update this policy when our practices change. The "Last updated" date will be revised and, for material changes, we will notify you in-app.

9. Usage analytics and your choice

When usage analytics are enabled, we send PostHog selected app actions, event times, basic device and app version details, and a randomly generated analytics identifier. After sign-in, events can be linked to your internal account ID to measure return visits. These identifiers are pseudonymous, rather than fully anonymous.

We do not include your name, email address, mood scores, journal or check-in content, coach messages, or attachment-test answers in these analytics events. We do not use session replay or automatic screen-content capture.

You can turn off future analytics collection in Profile → Usage analytics. Turning it off clears unsent events on your device. This setting and account deletion do not themselves erase analytics already sent to PostHog. To request deletion of previously collected analytics, contact [email protected].

10. Coach memory

Memory is on by default. Up to 12 short notes on limited general topics are kept in the account-specific local archive on this device. Health or sexual details, third-party names and crisis or safety-flagged conversations are excluded. The app does not sync notes to another device or a fresh installation.

While memory is on, up to 5 recent notes go with an eligible AI coach chat request to our server and AI provider for context. Memory makes no extra AI request. Notes are not sent to analytics or stored in a separate cloud memory table. Provider processing and temporary retention are described in section 4.

In AI Coach → What your coach remembers, turn memory off or delete notes individually or all at once. Turning it off stops new notes, sending existing notes and follow-up prompts; it does not delete existing notes. Deletion removes memory notes on this device. Conversation history is managed separately.

1. Service description

Breakup Coach AI is a mobile app that offers journaling, mood check-ins, AI-generated reflections, and exercises for people going through a breakup. It is a wellness tool, not a medical service.

2. Important notice

This app does not provide medical, psychological, or psychiatric treatment. If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.

3. Subscriptions

• Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription (weekly, monthly, or yearly). A free trial, when offered, is shown on the paywall before purchase; if you do not cancel before it ends, the subscription renews at the price shown.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID / Google account at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription in your device's store settings.
• Price per period is shown on the paywall screen and in the App Store before purchase.

4. User responsibility

You are responsible for the content you submit. Do not share content that is illegal, abusive, or violates third-party rights.

5. Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of the app, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

8. Privacy and coach memory

Coach memory is on by default. See the Privacy Policy memory section for local storage and sharing with the AI provider. In AI Coach → What your coach remembers, turn it off or delete individual notes or all notes. Turning it off stops saving, sharing and follow-up prompts but keeps existing notes. Conversation history is separate.
